ABOUT Kristin Sullivan
What goals brought you to personal training? Desire to be healthier and stronger, to make fitness a part of my life and not a chore; and to learn the proper form and technique instead of trying to keep up with people in a class.
What have been some of your biggest wins or milestones since starting? Learning so much from my coach, which helped me develop the confidence to walk into a gym alone and know what to do.
What has been the most challenging part of training for you? Motivation on the hard days when the energy wasn’t there. Showing up always felt better afterward.
Tell us about your sports & fitness background (before starting personal training): Was never involved in sports and didn’t step foot in a gym until my mid 20’s. Since then, various class-based workouts until I found CFKSQ.
Take us back to your very first personal training session… what did you expect, and how did it actually feel? I was excited, and nervous. I went with a friend so that helped. Sharon is an amazing coach and guided us through, I left feeling great and couldn’t wait to go back.
What sort of changes have you noticed in your body, health, and fitness since starting PT (before/after)? I’m stronger, more regimented in my mindset, body composition has changed for the better and I have a desire to keep pushing- little friendly competition with myself! The gym has become part of my life and routine, something I get to do, not something I have to do.
What positive changes in your life outside the gym have you experienced from personal training that you didn’t expect? The most unexpected thing was other people noticing change in me, recognizing my consistency and effort and celebrating it, that has been a huge surprise. I also love seeing how certain exercises translate to ‘real life’ movements.
Please share with us a favorite moment, breakthrough, or memory from your training sessions: There are so many moments and milestones, the last (almost) two years have been a lot of fun. Getting to know the CFKSQ community and being part of it has been so rewarding. Accomplishing goals and setting personal records, proving to myself that I can do hard things… and lift heavy weights 😊
Any advice for people who are considering starting personal training? Don’t think twice, it is one of the best commitments you can make to yourself! The entire coaching team will make it an experience you wish you had started sooner.
What are your hobbies, interests, or passions outside the gym? Family, Friends, and Travel
