Tell us about your sports & fitness background: Catcher at Octorara Varsity
baseball and for Elite Baseball out of Mt. Joy. I just do CrossFit.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD...
what was it, and how did it feel?
The football team wanted me to go lifting with them. My dad said no because
there was nobody there to teach form and technique. Because I wanted to get
in shape for baseball. He found CrossFit in Kennett.
My first WOD was M&M’s. It felt challenging yet it felt like I accomplished
something.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since
starting CF (before/after)? I started seeing more strength. Growth in muscle
mass.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on
something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected? Running a 6:30 mile. I’m
more physically fit and can do things that some of my peers can’t. Many times,
even today. I get compliments or notice about how physically fit I am often.
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFKSQ moments: Giving high fives
or fist bumps at the end of every workout.
Any advice for people just getting started? Start out slow, don’t go too fast,
listen to the coaches, and have fun.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? Baseball,
firefighter, marching band.
